My role in the movement for affordable, safe, and healthy housing has changed over the years, from grassroots organizing to legislative advocacy. I chose Klein Hornig because of its proven dedication to provide affordable housing and equitable community development across the country. I am grateful to be part of a team that makes housing stability a reality for families nationwide.
As an associate at Klein Hornig, Isabel Salas concentrates her practice on a variety of affordable housing and community development matters, both locally in the DMV area, and nationwide.
Isabel first joined Klein Hornig as a summer associate, where she gained valuable experience working alongside firm attorneys on a variety of matters. In addition to her work at Klein Hornig, Isabel was a student attorney at the Community, Equity and Economic Development Clinic at American University Washington College of Law, representing a nonprofit client filing for 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status and a housing cooperative client amending its governance documents.
Isabel has held internships with Bread for the City and the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund. Isabel’s professional experience is driven by her passion for economic justice and safe, affordable housing for all. As a former community organizer in Lincoln, Nebraska, Isabel helped pass legislation at both the city and state levels to promote tenants’ rights, equitable housing development, and community-centered economic development.
