Mark Iafrate focuses his practice on federal and state tax law while representing developers and investors in equity financing transactions for low-income housing tax credit properties. Prior to joining Klein Hornig, Mark was an associate at an affordable housing law firm in Michigan where he assisted clients on LIHTC investments involving various structures, such as 9% credits, income-averaging, and mixed-use development. He also previously worked providing international tax structuring advice to private equity firms at an accounting firm in New York City.
Mark earned his J.D. from Michigan State College of Law and LLM in Taxation from NYU School of Law. During law school, he served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Judge David W. McKeague of the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. Earlier in his career, Mark worked as a Housing Coordinator for a Refugee Resettlement Agency. There, he provided housing arrangements for hundreds of individuals who were newly resettled to the United States.
