Every project I take on is driven by a mission to build stronger communities and enrich the lives of residents by providing affordable housing. The work is complex and challenging, and I find it incredibly rewarding to do this intellectually stimulating work that strives to meet a fundamental need in our society—the availability of safe, inclusive affordable housing.

Serving investors and syndicators nationally, Hannah Hutchison advises clients in the financing and closing of affordable housing transactions from an array of funding sources, including federal and state Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), historic rehabilitation tax credits, renewable energy tax credits, tax-exempt bonds, rental subsidies and grants, among others.

In the ever-changing financing environment, Hannah enjoys working with clients to understand their business objectives to find innovative solutions to novel and unique problems. She takes challenges and complications in stride and thinks creatively to find optimal paths to closing deals. She brings a great deal of enthusiasm to her work in advancing the affordable housing mission. With a positive, thoughtful and enthusiastic demeanor, she is proactive and responsive, enabling strong relationships and collaboration among clients, developers, and opposing counsel in order to achieve the shared goal of building affordable homes.

  • Represented syndicators in a complex acquisitions, rehabilitations, and new constructions of affordable housing communities financed with a combination of federal and state low-income housing tax credits, federal and state historic rehabilitation tax credits, tax-exempt bonds, solar and geothermal tax credits, rental subsidies, grants and seller financing, resulting in thousands of units of affordable housing across the country.

In addition to taking daily walks with my retired racing Greyhound, I do a lot of knitting. I also like to travel and work on home improvement projects. Recently, I learned a few plumbing and electrical skills, so I can install new sinks, faucets and lighting fixtures myself.
