Klein Hornig Attorneys Present at 2016 ABA Forum

From May 25-27, 2016, Klein Hornig attorneys attended the 25th Annual ABA Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development Law in Washington DC.

Boston partner Henry Korman participated on a panel held at HUD Headquarters May 25th entitled, “HUD 1 – Fair Housing Review of RAD,” which focused on relocation and fair housing issues such as siting and tenant selection in HUD’s Rental Assistance Demonstration program.

Fellow Boston partner, Teresa Santalucia presented on “Tax-Exempt Issues for Non-Profit Entities,” which explored issues related to tax-exempt entities, exempt purpose and maintenance of exemption. Her presentation focused on private benefit and private inurement issues and how to spot them.

Dan Rosen, who also serves as a member of the Forum’s Governing Committee, spoke on a “Preservation Outside the Box” panel, where he and other panelists discussed novel and unusual strategies to accomplish the preservation of affordable housing.

Rounding out the list of KH panelists, DC attorney Eric Herrmann was part of a, “HUD Multi-Family Programs” update presentation, where he joined senior HUD staff and other practitioners, with a focus on transferring Section 8 housing assistance using Section 8(bb) of the United States Housing Act.
