On November 28, 2016, Boston Senior Counsel, Kate McGarr, presented on a panel at the Boston Bar Association entitled, “Title Insurance Policies: A Primer.” The panel focused on the basics of title insurance, including the purpose of title insurance, the differences between a title insurance commitment and pro forma policy, the particular sections of a commitment and policy, the risks covered by a title insurance policy and the exclusions from coverage.
