The Bonifant at Silver Spring Wins NAHMA Affordable Housing Vanguard Award

Klein Hornig LLP would like to congratulate our client, Montgomery Housing Partnership (MHP) on winning a National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA) – Affordable Housing Vanguard Award. These awards recognize newly developed or significantly rehabbed affordable multifamily housing communities. MHP won for The Bonifant at Silver Spring in the New Construction (large) category.

Klein Hornig was lead transactional attorney for all components of this project which features a 149 unit-senior apartment community featuring on-site resident services. The Bonifant project combined several advanced approaches including creative land use and dedication to affordable housing with a full array of senior services, co-location of residential space and public use facility, transit-oriented development, and unique public-private partnership. MHP partnered with the Donohoe Development Company to develop The Bonifant.

The Bonifant has also won the following awards: DHCD & MAHC’s Community Impact Award, Capital One Architectural Design Award, A finalist for ULI Washington Trends Award in the Impact category, Affordable Housing Conference of Montgomery County’s first place architecture award for new construction.
