On Tuesday, April 29th, Klein Hornig partner Steve Niles spoke at a conference in New York sponsored by the New York Affordable Housing Management Association ("NYAHMA") entitled "Preserving Section 202 Properties." Steve wwas joined by colleagues from HUD and other law firms to discuss refinancing and repositioning of Section 202 projects under recently-issued HUD guidance. Steve’s presentation addressed new opportunities for Section 202 property owners to attract debt and equity for much-needed rehab/modernization of their properties; increase allowable distributions and take-out equity from their properties; and preserve their properties as affordable housing for the long-term.
