Tax Attorney

Klein Hornig LLP is seeking an attorney to be a part of our tax practice. The tax partners who will directly supervise this position are based in our Boston, Massachusetts office. Part-time, flexible-time, or remote work arrangements may be possible depending on the candidate’s experience and availability. All Klein Hornig attorneys are currently working on a hybrid basis.

The firm focuses on affordable housing and community development law. Our tax attorneys advise on transactions, compliance issues and complex structuring questions, review and negotiate equity documents, and render tax opinions, primarily involving real estate transactions that use one or more federal tax credits, including the low-income housing tax credit, the New Markets Tax Credit, and the historic rehabilitation tax credit, as well as numerous state tax credits. Candidates must have experience with partnership tax law (Subchapter K) and a minimum of three (3) years’ experience practicing law as a tax attorney. Candidates must possess excellent academic credentials as well as strong writing, research and analytical skills. The successful applicant should demonstrate a commitment to Klein Hornig’s mission and a dedication to promoting affordable housing and community development. An LL.M. is not required.

Associate Attorney

Klein Hornig LLP is seeking a mid- to senior-level attorney to support its Washington, DC office. Part-time, flexible, or remote work arrangements may be possible depending on candidate experience and availability. Klein Hornig specializes in structuring and closing all types of multilayered affordable housing and community development transactions.

We are interested in candidates with a demonstrated interest in affordable housing and community development, excellent academic credentials and experience closing complex real estate or corporate transactions. Particular experience in some or all of the following subject areas is highly desirable but not essential for the candidate with the right mix of other experience and passion for our work: tax credits, public housing revitalization, HUD-assisted housing and lending.
